Default Display Properties Background Folder

    I have a little problem that I cannot figure out.

    In Display Properties/Desktop/Background listbox, my listbox is filled with pics from My Pictures folder instead of the standard Windows directory which is Windows\Web\Wallpaper.

    The problem is My Pictures folder has thousands of pictures and it takes windows a minute or two to populate the list when I click on the desktop tab.

    I have searched the registry for Web\Wallpaper on a properly working computer thinking maybe it would point to it somewhere but no luck.

    Does anyone know how to get it to point to the proper folder?

    Go Start>Run, type in:
    regedit
    Click OK.

    Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
    Look at WallPaperDir key. What does Data column say?

    That sounded good but it says %SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper. I tried pointing it to other directories to no evail. That is what I was looking for though. I couldn't find it on the good computer as I was searching for C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper.

    Are you saying, that you don't have C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper folder?

    I have a C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper folder but I was searching for those exact words on the good computer in the registry. I wasn't seraching for %SystemRoot%\Web\Wallpaper

    %SystemRoot% = C on most computers.
