XP SP3 + FlashPlayer

    A bug that I noticed when installing SP3 is that an ancient version of flash.ocx gets copied to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. There is no reference to flash.ocx in the registry which indicates that the outdated version of FlashPlayer is not actually installed so, just delete the file.

    (I have version 9.0.124.0 installed. If no FlashPlayer is installed, the original one might get installed and should be uninstalled properly ... :confused: ... I think.)

    Same here - Secunia Software Inspector flagged it - although I know I deleted it with SP3 RC1 & 2.

    Hi Pete!

    I rolled back a Ghost Image created prior to installing SP3. In that location was "Flash9f.ocx" and three other associated files but no "flash.ocx ".

    It was Christer Software Inspector who detected it ... ;) ... !
