how can I disable balloon screens?

    I have Windows XP on my computer, and I get annoying balloon screens. Can anyone tell me how to disable balloon screens? Thank you very much. abm

    Some can be disabled and the rest are there for good. If it's related to Updating, Firewall, or Anti-Virus, it can be supressed. Anything else is either helpful or malware. Most can be handled but you'll have to give more info if you want specific instructions.

    Should you not wish to dabble in the Registry directly use TweakUI -from MS ....

    Taskbar & Start Menu > Uncheck 'Enable balloon tips'
