Ken, You're using the wrong bait here. Don't post your name as the problem topic, instead give a short description of your problem so it will attract some interest.

You probably have an association corruption for hard drives. Go to the DougKnox site and download the file named DRIVE. It's the 7th one down the list. Unzip it and double click the .reg file it presents. OK the action to add info to the Registry.

Test for effect and post back your results. You may have other problems as well.

Another fix that has worked for others is to check for a file named autorun.inf in the root of your drives, delete all occurences. This is usually the work of a virus and you should take further steps to prevent it from returning. Possibly post up in the Security forum here if you find that file on the root.

    Good luck!

    fixing c & d recognition

    Hi Surferdude
I tried the reg fix but this did not work, I have also checked to find if there is a virus in the reg (autorun.inf) but can't find anything related to it. The other thing I have found is the restore will not work either.
    Thanks
    Ken
