    A windows "Internet Explorer has stopped working" appears, then the current IE7 window shuts down, and a new IE7 window restarts.

    The above incident is happening more and more frequent during the last two weeks. It seems that too many websites can trigger this so I can't tell a clue. I tried disabling the plug-ins but no improvement can be seen.

    Will it be the Flash 9 problem with some websites? I can only trace back my memory the first time it has drawn my attention after I was told that my browser has not usng the latest Flash plug-in.

    I traced the Event Viewer but I didn't see anything logged about IE7.

    Can any one advise me what to do?

    I'd try an IE7 'reset': Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab, Reset button under Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

    If that doesn't help, post a HJT log in the Removing Spyware & Viruses forum.

    Hi Arie,

    IE didn't close automatically after the reset. But since add-ons are all disabled but not uninstalled, some websites display messages asking me to enable them, but without specifying which ones. e.g. Adobe.

    First, I have no idea which ones I should enable;
    Second, I am worry if they're enabled and the problem may happen again. The difficulty here is that I just can't wait for 2 days aftr enabling one add-on, before I enable another, so that I know which one causes trouble.
    Third, I don't know how to uninstall them, and worry that if I uninstall them, I cannot find the source to reinstall them.

    Is there a better arrangement?
