My laptop makes a good internet connection with dial-up and with an ethernet connection to my Verizon Modem/Router but does not work with either a wireless connection or ethernet connectionto my linksys router which is connected to the Verizon modem/router. I get excellent wireless signal strength and the wireless says it is connected but I get the "page not found" on both firefox and internet explorer.
A second remote computer uses the linksys wireless signal and works just fine.
I've turned off the firewall(McAfee) and have done all the winsock and stack fixes to no avail.
    Any ideas?

Is your IP address assigned by DHCP? The DHCP server may not be switched on in the router.

Try allocating a fixed IP in the same subnet as the router.

eg if the router is 192.168.1.1 then make your IP 192.168.1.2 and set the gateway and the dns server to 192.168.1.1.

    That should do it.
