No I am still stuck with Google Earth it is frozen in my add/remove program I was just given (Add/Remove Program Cleaner) to try and Google Earth wasn't even listed there, Also the button for change/remove had disappeared. I am clueless as to what to do next.

    System Restore not working

Sorry, Mike and Pete - I ran out of time yesterday and have still to try the fix. One question - do I check ALL the boxes on the first screen?

Check all the boxes on the first screen > Go

Then click on the Hammerhead icon at the bottom of the page next to Policies and select Reinstall System Restore from the list > Go

    System Restore not working

Many Thanks, Pete & Mike - the immediate test I did on System Restore after running the fix has worked. I hope that problem is now behind me!

    Bill.

You bet! I have been using it for perhaps 3 years now from ver 50!

The developer has been quite for a while but is working on a new version.

I don't think your issue is a problem. I think the Google program is gone but the uninstall entry is just left hanging.

Are you getting rid of it for good or trying to fix something and re-install it?

My advice use it in a web browser and don't install it!

One technique in a situation like this when the installer is acting as yours is. Is to install again get the program working this most times fixes the bad uninstall entry.

Reboot once and then uninstall again.

    Hi Pete

    Another thing re: DAF

Basically one of the things it does is unregister dll's and reregister them.

It has pointed me to a fix often if it fails (a good thing) as it pointed me to a curupt or missing DLL!.

Repalce DLL and reun DAF and Bingo!

Hi Mike I did try to install the same version of Google that I had and the download would not complete so I had to abord it. Later I did install an older version and it installed and has since been deleted with no problems.
I want Google to be gone for good I never used it because It just didn't interest me. I will try again to install the newest version and see what happens. Thanks

Mike you are the Man.....My GE trash is gone, I think the Dial-a-fix must have changed something to cause this Cleanup Utility to work because I did try it and it stopped on me to, Also my computer is working better than it has in a while Thanks to you and Dial-a-fix.

I am very satisfied with the help I have received here, you guys are great, Pete I apologize for continuing with my Google Earth problem in Windows XP I know I should have moved my question to software.
    Have a good day
