In a hurry I accidently deleted Recycle Bin from the desktop. Is there somewhere in the Control Panel where I can have the Recycle Bin placed on desktop?

Placing a shortcut to the recycle bin on the desktop does NOT give the correction options when you right click and select properties.

    Thanks a MILLION...

I just got this new computer yesterday, Friday. I have been using home computers since 1992 and have NEVER done anything as careless as this.

I figured there had to be someplace to restore it but I'm so used to Win XP SP2 that Vista will take a little getting used to.

    Thanks again.

Right clicking the Recycle Bin to empty it, it's easy to click delete instead of empty. I do it often.

    Replace Recycle Icon

Go to Control Panel: Appearance and Personalization. Select "Personalization" - on left panel, click
    "change desktop icon"

This will open the "Desktop Icon Settings" window. Check box for "recycle bin." This will restore your icon for the recycle bin on your desktop.

    Recycle bin

Well, that was my first post, just previous. I learned that I should read all the previous posts. "Broni" had the solution to your dilemma with a much easier option. bf
