    Hello all,

I'm currently having severe issues with my laptop. It's about 4 years old and had been sent in for maintenance shortly after a LARGE Toshiba recall. The problem I'm having is that it has been crashing at different times while its in use. I can have it running for 2 days none stop and not have any issues what so ever. Other times I'll have it powered off for long periods of time and as soon as I boot it up and log into windows it will blue screen. So far I have been unable to isolate the cause and have been searching for a way to fix the issue.

According to the crash log, the problem appears to be caused by a system file named: w22n51.sys

I have no idea what this system file would en tale.

Here is my latest minidump log (there wasn't a full dump log):

I'm hoping someone here can figure out whats going on. :/

    Thanks guys!

Also here is another post from a site I ran across while trying to troubleshoot my problem. I think it might be related to what I am experiencing, but I'm not 100% sure:

    Intel ProSet 2200BG problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite M35 and all of a sudden an my system crashes. The error message states an online crash. When I send the report to the microsoft online crash analysis it says the error is caused by: Intel Pro/Wireless LAN 2200BG adapter software (w22n51.sys). I was told by toshiba to restore my system with my restore cd. Unfortunately, I am unbale to find my restore cd for this. I was told by intel to download latest driver, to no prevail. Is there anything I can do before giving it to a tech to which will cost me a $100 just to have them look at it. I understand if I need to do that which is no problem, I just want it to exhaust all options first. Thanks for any and all replies.

FraxineusCasus - Welcome to the Board :)

First a note about dump logs ....
    However my observations are ....

Your analysis of the dump log is correct - the culprit appears to be w22n51.sys which is part of the Intel Pro/Wireless LAN 2200BG adapter software.

You should try updating the driver as a first step .....

    http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/pro2200bg/

Wise to set a Restore point before updating :)

Its been about an hour since I updated the driver. The laptop actually seems to run slightly cooler now too. I have restarted my laptop a few times just to test the stability of the system and so far no crashes. Hopefully this is a good sign that the problem was fixed with the update, though I know just how sporadic the crashes have been with this system.

Thanks for giving my crash log a once over and verifying that the LAN 2200BG adapter software was the cause ! :]

Just a side thought though, will this post remain on the forums? I only ask in case my problem turns out to be unresolved and I want to post to this topic again.

Glad to hear that you have made apparent progress, but as you say - time will tell.

The thread will remain on the forum - no threads are removed, but it will be closed in a few weeks. If that is the case when you want to respond again start a new thread referencing this one ....

Ok that sounds good, I'll keep an eye on how the system is doing. Again, thanks for the help. :]
