I am getting the following Error when booting up in Vista Premium:

    Location is not available

    C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop

    Is not accessible.

    Access denied

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Hi Wilber69. Since it looks like you are getting an access is denied error when booting up, try taking ownership of the C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop directory. Follow the steps to take ownership of the files/folders outlined here. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html :)

    Thanks Evan,

The problem was so bad that it wouldn't even allow me save anything my desktop.

I ended up backing up the profiles and reinstalling Vista.

Other then reinstalling the updates and setting up the profiles it worked out pretty well.

I'm glad you got your problem sorted out. Sometimes the simplest solution is to just reinstall Windows if you are having major problems. :)

    Very true Evan,

I really like Vista, but I think this is one of the times I wish I had XP and how it would restore...

All good and it is back to normal.

Thanks again for the link to the other site.
