I'm using WIN VISTA on a Gateway PC mdl 5408... I use Secunia PSI to scan for up to date pgms, & recently started having a problem/annoyance... I get an alert that an insecure pgm was detected on drive d:\ (I don't have it): Microsoft Core XML 6.x (I can't locate it)... any suggestions? Tx

    Hi Jammer,
I'm pretty sure that you do have a partition that Secunia is calling 'D', and that that will be where the OS restore data is hidden by Gateway. Follow Pete's advice, install the Secunia Personal PSI, and try the direct download route offered in that.
If the MS Core XML 6.x installed by Gateway has been updated, Secunia will pick it up. Is it a fairly new machine?

Tx for inputs.... I re-downloaded Secunia PSI & re-scanned... same 'insecure' alert... I do have a (virtual??) D:\ drive labeled 'restore', but still hve had no joy locating 'Microsoft core XML 6.x'...

You say that you 're-downloaded' Secunia PSI and re-scanned Jammer with no usable result apparently. If you download, and install, Secunia PERSONAL PSI, when it finds the dangerous programme it will have a direct download link for the update under the 'Insecure' tab.

I don't think that the on-line scan has this facility but could be wrong!
