Hi All.....I've encountered this problem before but can't remember what I had to do to fix it.

I'm trying to get outlook to perfrom a send & recieve on startup.

I've been to the Microspft website and done what they suggested re: Create a new send and recieve group etc but to no avail.

    Any Ideas??

    Hi fanceydave
Which version of OutLook are you using?
When you go up to tools......then options........then the mail set up tab.....do you have a check mark under "send immediately when connected? "

It's like deja vu all over again...

    fancydave,
Click 'Tools' -> 'Options' -> 'Mail Setup (tab) -> Send/Receive (button). Under the heading 'When Outlook is online', place a check by the 'Schedule an automatic send/receive every 'x' minutes. When you open Outlook it will check your email accounts.
    Later

    B

If you're wanting Outlook to send and receive immediately on startup like Outlook Express....not gonna' happen. At least, I've never found a way to make it happen. There's about a 15-second delay between the time it starts up and the time it checks for mail. I don't know why, yes it's irritating and if anybody can tell me how to speed that up, please do.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that this delay was introduced by one of the SP's to address the issue of Outlook processing mail on startup prior to any rules kicking-in thus causing all mail to be dumped straight to the inbox (but, as my memory ain't what it used to be, I might very well be mistaken about this!).
