I have a question for all of you out there....
I have a computer running WinXP and was wondering if upgrading to Vista would be a good idea as of this point in time? To answer a couple questions before they crop up, I most likely will be doing a clean install of either xp or vista, my current installation has a few driver problems due to when I upgraded my pc. I would appreciate some honest opinions based on a gaming system and performance. I know many people hate vista, but it is what Microsoft has in mind for the future.
    Thanks

If you decide to upgrade the machine to Vista, I mainly suggest maxing out the RAM memory. I bought a Vista machine last year at Thanksgiving and haven't had a problem with Vista, but I will tell you my older XP based machines run faster.

What kind of issues are you having? Do the new items have Vista drivers available?

The main problem I am having at this point is the a nv4_disp.dll error. I can watch movies and do anything, but as soon as I try to watch a dvd, my system crashes to a bsod with that error. I have tried many fixes, including reinstalling video drivers, but I can't fix it. If you have any advice, I would sure appreciate it.

Just to let you know, that the newest Vista Service Pack 1 has been having issues with nVidia drivers, and I'm not aware of any sure fix, yet.
