With PrefBar no longer supported / FF 2 / 3? I'm in need of a Add-on which can change the background color for difficult website views. I will never understand why a site chooses white print on a black background ... but they do.

    Thanks

The Prefbar is working fine in 2.0.0.13. But, it does not in 3.0beta5, although it worked with beta4. The problem occurred about the time that Seamonkey2.0a1pre ceased to work. However, things were back to normal about Mar 29. beta5 came out on 3-26, and I noticed the issue in SM2.0 on 3-23. The author of Prefbar was working on a v.4.0.1, but has not been successful in beating 3.0beta5. He is trying, but, considering what shows up in SM2.9, a beta6 or RC1 may work.
But, I am not sure if there is another way, since you mention print.
Did you try Tools|Options|Content|Colors|uncheck the "allow pages...." ?
If it does not work, can you give a problem site?

    Hi Westside

I could install older version, but all I need it for is to swap color (black text / on white background) for pages like this. Just a little extension which can toggle the color ... PrefBar does this via "Color" option, but I never use the balance of it's options.

The page I chose was for dramatic effect. It would be nice if all sites were so accommodating .... but their not. :(

I neglected to tell you to do the following, after unchecking the "allow pages...." Place a check mark for "Use system colors ". The website which you gave will have the text in black on white background, but the stuff on the left becomes illegible. Note that the page must be closed, and, then, reopened to see any effect. And, changing the background color to something other than white, does not work. It is very annoying, indeed.
Now, the original issue, which I am sure I misunderstood inc regard to "print ", is not there. Selecting Print Preview, at least, yields black on white.
So, unless the info on the left hand tab is important, one can view that site in blank on white background, without any add-on.
