    Hello,
    I am running Windows 2000 with IE6 SP2.
Its been working fine for years but has suddenly slowed right up when opening. (It take 2x minutes and 40x seconds to open)
Once it is open it seems to work ok (but I did have a problem trying to download Windows defender, it wouldn't open the application)
I have done the usual scans Adaware and Spybot, I have Norton Antivirus andI have used Regseeker. No viruses etc showing.
    Any advise please.
    Regards

Could it be the site that your home page is set too is having issues?

Hello Steve, thanks for your reply.
I have tried different home page settings but it doesn't improve.
When I open IE, it opens straigh away but then just sits there, with a blank page for appx two and a half minutes before accessing a site
    Regards

How are you connecting to the Internet - dialup, cable, via router?

If IE is open and the website address is in the Address Bar to my mind the problem lies downstream of IE. Do you have any problems accessing your email?

    hello,
I am accessing via a router
    No problem with emails.
Other pc'c on the network are accessing the internet fine (using IE)

I wonder would it be a problem with IE and if so is there a repair tool I could download (WIN200 does not have IE Repair facility)

    Regards
