when inserting a flash memory into the USB port, the windows crashes. Shouldn't I be able to insert without having to do it before starting the computer? I have XP and a Dell desktop that is 4 years old.

    Please define "crashes."
Does it give an error message with information that can be searched on?

No I didn't see the exact message, just a blue screen and something about thermal. I had a chat with Lexar support and they suggested I not use the front USB on the desktop, but rather the rear one and to disconnect the printer. It is not happening with the laptop. So I will try that.

hi rondom, please give us a little bit more information regarding your system OS, how old, USB1.1 or 2. Too hard to point to anything without information.
The Lexar information does not exactly make much sense.

I can only tell you I removed the printer cable from the rear and inserted the Lexar with computer on and it worked. Maybe Lexar can explain why. Thanks for your interest.
