    Hello,

A client of mine uses SOHO (256 down, 64up) from ISP1 which began to be unsufficient and unupgradable therefore I got for him another but just down (1Mb) connection from ISP2.

Now, their internet is down from ISP2 and Up from ISP1:
We had to change lan settings in Internet Explorer specifiying a proxy and a port (192.168.0.1 and 8080) to be able to connect to the internet.

The thing is that Outlook Express and MS Outlook cannot now neither receive nor send: Should ISP1 and ISP2 do something mutual? should any configuration be modified in Outlook Express and MS Outlook to have them work? or is it impossible that they work?

    Pls advise

    Thank you

I've never dealt with using a proxy...But some of your problem is related to the mixtures of ISP's....

Which of the ISP's is he using for email?

(my OFFICE and HOME are on different ISP's)
If I bring my OFFICE laptop HOME and attempt to get OFFICE email I have to change the SMTP (outgoing mail) to my Home ISP's server information. This is to prevent what they call "spoofing." I can send and receive a-ok.

Hello Steve and thanx for the reply.

It seems that I need a fix IP from my downlink ISP to be opened by my uplink ISP; that's what both told me.

I am awaiting my fix IP to test if it solves my Outlook problem.

Will get back to you on that time.

    Thanx again,
