    There you go!

    You da man Reggie!

I read right across it and it did not light my alarm, guess I was ready to close out and wait until someone was at the location.

It is about like talking to yourself.:D

Self: self have you seen my dhcp ip? Self: yes I sent it to you, here take it back!

Thats how it works. We ask questions and we get good answers like Grunty gave!

    Thanks again for the replies

I tried disabling one card and then resetting a pc to dhcp.

Unfortunateley it didn't work and the pc is unavailable. Doesn't matter though, I have finished configuring it anyway, so it can wait until my colleague gets there in a couple of weeks.

It will probably be alot easier once we can set up teaming and tweak settings with someone there - doing it all over the wire is frustrating, I don't even know what the office looks like.

    Hi Grunt

    Still grunting huh!:)

OK you may can get this one back by trying to connect to the same 169.254.198.253 number it retrieved before.

This may not work from here but it should from the server that has the station in its local subnet.

Normally Windows will retrive the same IP here but if not, download angryip scanner

    http://www.angryziber.com/ipscan/ipscan.exe

and scan 169.0.0.0 thru 169.255.225.225 it may take a few minutes but should find the one live IP.

    Mike

PS If we can get this fixed now when you Boss gets there all he will nedd to do is go sightseeing!!:D

Have you also checked that the DHCP scope is activated? I seem to recall that if the DHCP server detects a problem it will deactivate the problem scope. Therefore you may well have to fix the problem AND reactivate the scope.
