Is there a freeware tool that records windows xp startup activities, from the moment you log in to the time that every app is loaded at the system tray?

I'd like to know if there's a dialer or app that is causing conflict on the system or if a virus is running on the background when Xp starts.

    Thanks for the input.

    Hi, content28. :)

If you simply want to determine whether a dialer, virus, or other malware might be lurking about or not, then I suggest you try scanning your computer with a couple reputable free online scanners. ;)

BootVis 1.3.37.0 might do what you want.

Boot Log XP might work for you.

DISCLAIMER: I have no idea about the reputation of the vendor or software.

EDIT: Discussion about Boot Log XP here.

Thanks for the quick response and the link. I have somewhat the same issue as the TS on the other thread.

Will go thru the post now.

    Many thanks again!

Free and good startup programs monnitor

There is an excellent freeware tool for monitoring and managing startup programs. It's called WinPatrol (there is also a paid version available) You can find it malware free here:http://www.majorgeeks.com/WinPatrol_d3380.html
