Windows Vista Vista SP1 causing issues with Hotmail?

Since installing the Vista SP1 update, Hotmail access has been extremely slow or non existent. If you get to the login screen and enter the user and password the screen just hangs when trying to load the Hotmail interface. Our other PC and Laptop are running XP, and Hotmail access is fine.
I've read a couple of articles on this but Microsoft whilst admitting an issue are very quiet at the moment. Anyone have the same problem or a fix (other than uninstalling SP1)?

Hi Paul, I am Running vista and use windows live mail for my hotmail accounts, works great,

 

The issue is affecting around 0.5% of Hotmail users only. Guess I'm one of the 0.5%.

 

As of Monday (Australian time) Hotmail seems to be accessible using Vista (IE7) or Outlook 2007 on Vista.
Still like to know what the cause was?

It seems I've FINALLY found the source of the issue of not being able to access Hotmail through IE or Outlook 2007 in Vista except maybe after waiting several minutes.

As my previous post said. It started working, but that was only briefly.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.xx was the culprit. Disabling it didn't help, but uninstalling it did.
I wonder how many of the other people with issues (do a google) have the same problem with this or other AV programmes?
