    Running Vista Business on an SBS 2k3 domain. One computer is not allowing me to log in with my domain account. The local Administrator account works fine on that computer, as do other domain accounts. Error given is:

    "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon. Access is denied. "

    The local Application Log has the following events each time:

    =======================================
    Event ID: 1542
    Source: User Profiles Service
    User: SYSTEM
    Level: Error

    Windows cannot load classes registry file.
    DETAIL - The system cannot find the file specified.
    =======================================
    Event ID: 6004
    Source: Winlogon
    User: N/A
    Level: Warning

    The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> failed a critical notification event.
    =======================================
    Event ID: 6001
    Source: Winlogon
    User: N/A
    Level: Warning

    The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> failed a notification event.
    =======================================

    Has anyone seen this before? Is there a solution? Again, this only seems to happen for my account, and only on that computer. We tried deleting the computer account from the server and re-adding it, but that did nothing.

    Thanks in advance.

    I'll have a go, but I only know the basics :)

    It seems the Group Policy is set to check a file that is not present for your user account.

    Whoever sets your Group Policy should be able to tell you which files are checked.

    Here, we are mainly dealing with end-users. You may find some information at www.technet.com, but if you go to forums, don't post in a Developers forum, you will not get a reply.

    Did you move the location of the User Profile Folder (C:\Users)? It has been reported that if the hidden folders aren't copied over, this error might occur.

    Thanks for the replies, but I'm not sure how either of the above theories would apply to my situation. I am capable of logging into any computer other than this one, and I would presume the issues suggested should affect my login on all domain computers?

    Thanks.

    OK, a little obscure :)

    Again, I know not much. Get another administrator to log on that machine and remove/delete your user profile. When you log back in, it will be recreated.
