    Susette,
did you try Ramona's last suggestion, in the thread which you gave, for the images?
As for the back button, in the old days, if History was set to 0 days, it did not work. I have, Privacy|History (top section) set to 3 days. However, 1 day is good enough. 0 days may not be.
I would not think that spyware is a problem, but, firewall, perhaps.
Anyway, I have two versions of Firefox, Navigator9.0.0.6, and Flock, and two versions of Seamonkey, and of them work fine.

    Westside:

Everyones history has a range between 0-9. My history is 0 and the images load for me. The permissions.default.images are set to 1. I could not find the rest of her settings:

1 Allow all images to load, regardless of origin. (Default)

2 Block all images from loading.

3 Prevent third-party images from loading.

My history is 0, and quite a few other users are at 0, and the images load for us. The permissions.default.images is set to 1.

    My
is, also set to 1. Does everyone else has it set to 1?
The setting, also, for Firefox and Flock are in Tools|Options|Contents|Load images automatically. That box should be checked. However, one can add exceptions.

    Suzette,

Do the users have addons? Themes other than default? Run Firefox in Safe Mode and see if the problems persist.

Also check this setting in about:config dom.disable_image_src_set
Ensure that the value is set to "false ".
If not set to false, right-click the preference name and select reset, or double-click to toggle.

If still no joy, then try a new Profile and see if this solves the problem.

    Hi Ramona,

Nice to hear from you. The history is set to default, 9. The configuration you suggested is set to false. No themes. New profile after uninstallation and removal of directory.

One more note: When going to Emc.com, images there do not load either. I think I'm going to look for a "flash" player of some sort and install. Will report back. Until then, any further suggestions are welcomed.

    Fixed.

When I visited EMC.com website, they specify which plugin is not allowing the images to load. The Adobe Flash was not installed. Once installed all images loaded, no matter what web site I visit.

Thanks for the help. I hope this helps others.

This is not common, because Adobe Flash is used a lot, and, I have not seen a site which did not say that the plugin was needed. In fact, I struggled all day, yesterday with a site which demanded a plugin to play Windows Media Player files. I had everything which the site demanded, and WMP files play fine anywhere else. Finally, I found out that they required a plugin especially made for that site. If a plugin is needed Firefox will display that info just above the page, in a yellow band, all across.

    Hi Westside:

I too had the same experience. The website that my user visits daily is:
http://www.earthsky.org/skywatching It never once mentioned any missing plugin, nor did the "yellow bar" pop out. When I went to EMC.com, it stated "adobe plugin missing ".

I couldn't find anywhere in any browser, what plugins are installed. You can see all the addons but not plugins.

    Interesting.......

You can get the plugins info by typing about: plugins, in the URL bar. The Flash plugin is listed at the very top.
Note: for some reason the : is translated into a weird thing. I don't mean that. Type it without the space
    before the "p "

    That is very helpful information.

I also found the link: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/ helpful. Thank you. Once again, I've found this BBS to be helpful in many ways.

    Thanks All!!!!

The link is good, but it does not tell you what you have.
As for my problems with the about:plugins, is not possible that it is an April Fools day trick. I never saw a smilies translated from the symbol, which is in the middle of the word, should I say. I did not mean to stick the tongue out, but it is funny.

    Westside,

To eliminate the smilie, click on Edit, then under "Additional Options" insert a tick next to: Disable smilies in text.

I know that, but why should this happen, is beyond me. It is not happening elsewhere.
