cd drive problem

    hi,
    when i connect a cd drive to my system it is not opening.... but if i remove the data bus its opening.. please help me in solving this problem.... :(

    My initial thought is something else on the same channel could be preventing the drive to functioning.

    Is this the only device on the channel?
