Did you do a repair install of Windows and or update the chipset drivers since you installed the new mobo?

Check the hard drive with the OS on it - C:\ ....

Start > Run > chkdsk /r > Enter and accept the request to run at next boot. Reboot.

As this is a recent build I would check all the connections - remove and reseat all plug in cards and memory modules - same with all ribbon cables. Leave the CPU alone.

Rather than a clean install try a repair install - an hour at the most.

I would not see it as a CPU problem - your initial post indicated that you could run Windows - it is conceivable that it is a mobo problem.

First step is the repair install.

    My CPU is going crazy

Hello its been 4 days since my last post...my problem now is driving me crazy. My CPU whenever it likes works continually and constantly at 95-100% usage or 45%-55% usage but it does not happen all the time.I have searched the forum for possible solutions and i m telling you that there is not spyware or adaware nor a virus. ( i have spybot,ad aware, and trend micro internet security and searched for possible threats but nothing). My hard disks are fine i last defragmented last night and checked them thoroughly.Something i ve noticed is that CPU fan works at full speed when that happens the whole time even during a reboot while a pc reboot at bios startup screen or windows startup screen so that makes me think that its not a software problem. Please help i m going crazy. Here is also a hijack this log that you might ask me for:

Let's keep your problem in one thread for continuity please.
There are plenty of nasties that can evade the software you note.

Before I move this thread to the Removing Spyware and Viruses forum look in Task Manager and post which processes are eating up the CPU when the total usage approaches 100%.

System Idle Process is a representation of the unused CPU capacity - the total CPU usage at any one time will be along the bottom left hand corner of Task Manager. Do you see that at 100% for prolonged periods?

You have changed the motherboard and presumably moved the CPU from the old board to the new. Did you thoroughly clean off the old thermal paste on the heatsink and CPU and replace with a good quality paste such as Arctic Silver?

Yes sometimes it sticks to 100% or %50%.I have AMD overdrive and when 50% occurs the one core works fully and the other is completely relaxed i dont know if that is relevant. And yes i cleaned the thermal paste and applied a new one accually this Primecooler PC-C100S High Quality Silver Compound.

Hmm - you're overclocking :) The first thing I would do is to revert back to standard settings and see if the problem remains.

I use Cool'nQuiet which effectively underclocks the CPU until full capacity is required.

    You're welcome :)
Not from personal experience - the standard fans have always been adequate for my requirements. Right now with Cool'nQuiet running with my AMD Athlon x64 4200+ 2.21 Ghz CPU temp is 30 C - 86 F, cooler than the mobo and 2 of my 3 hard drives.

Coolermaster coolers are generally pretty good - fair selection at Overclockers

I note you use Trend Micro. They reported that they had been hit with a malicious script recently and although they have removed it you may have picked it up. Run the latest malicious script removal tool.
