When attempting to open a video on youtube I get this message. I am having the same trouble with fantasy football. I have downloaded the flash player but still no luck. I am sure it is a simple fix but can not figure it out.

This is the error message I get when attempting to open the video:
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks
    Mike

I completed step by step instructions and unfortunately still not working. Could the problem be under my control panel internet settings?

The only reason I am wondering is because the same error is noted both with IE and Mozilla

IE and Firefox are separate browsers and do not share the same security settings. IE is integrated into Windows whereas Firefox is a standalone browser.

Just check in Firefox under Tools > Options > Content that 'Enable Javascript' is checked - if I uncheck that I see the same message as you do.

If that is checked - and I guess it will be the problem most likely lies with the Flash Player.

Check that Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is shown in Add/Remove Programs.

Test the Flash Player here ....

As with many things connected to Adobe Flash the end result is generally unclear - the animation is not obvious until you mouse either the Create, See or About boxes where there is some animation accompanied with sound.

I have attempted each fix you recommended and verified that the player is working. Any other suggestions? I am having no difficulty pulling videos up on my laptop but the desktop continues to promp me with the error message noted.

Thanks for the update on this and glad you resolved the problem :)

Difficult to see how the install from Adobe direct - after using their uninstall tool - differs, but maybe it does. Flash has caused innumerable problems for some folk since Adobe took it over :(
