I'm currently using XP Home (32bit) & am thinking of going to XP64 (I do a lot of audio recording/processing) and want to take advantage of the 4GB RAM already installed. (My system is compatible with the 64 bit architecture).

    1) Does XP Home Edition support XP64 bit or do I need XP Pro?
    2) Are there any driver issues I need to be aware of?

I'd appreciate any tips & links you can recommend to make this as easy as possible :).

    Thanks,
    Patre

You require Windows XP x64 - this is a separate Operating System.
Yes - there are very few available and unlikely to increase now that Vista x64 has been released.

Windows x64 is best avoided and if you really want to go for 64 bit use Vista x64, but that is not without it's troubles either - lack of drivers and software support for the 64 bit environment. The only reason to go for Vista x64 is the ability to use more RAM.

    64-bit Editions of Windows Vista

XP will see and use 3.5 Gb of your 4 Gb installed RAM - I doubt it is worth the hassle for an extra 512 Mb.

Personally i wouldn't bother going up to XP 64bit, i did for some time and had nothing but problems with one thing or another.

Mainly with programs not running correcly or with drivers.

Like others have said: Stay away from XP 64-bit!

Not only that, you will loose the 512MB just as fast. You see, 64-bit means that all 64-bit code is larger: all of the variables are no longer only 32 bits long, but 64 bits instead. Typically, this makes applications between 20% and 40% larger, which consequently results in a higher memory footprint.

Thanks all for your advice, I'll stick with the 32 bit system (until better support is there). I have a high end sound card that doesn't support the 64 bit system & I don't want to invest in amore than I've already done.
    Thx,
    Patre
