I have an account that doesn't allow outgoing mail, and I have to use a separate account to send emails.

Recently I received two emails, which requested a read receipt to the account that doesn't allow mail sending. Now, every time I start Outlook, it tries to send these two read receipts, then finally produces an error. If it would just leave it at that, I would simply deal with it. However, every time send and receive is activated, it attempts to send these two read receipts and produces the error. The read receipts don't show up in my outgoing mail folder, and I can't find anywhere that these messages are being queued.

I've shut off read receipt sending for future emails, but how can I clear these two pending read receipts from the queue?

    Thanks for your help!

    Take care,
    Steve

This is for Outlook 2000 so I don't know if it will work or not but you can have a look. From what it says, it sounds as though the receipt is stored within the email. You could try saving those two emails to your hard drive somewhere and then delete them from Outlook. If it doesn't work, you can always move the saved ones back in.

Thanks for the reply, Zander. I tried the options you listed, but, unfortunately, it didn't work with Outlook 2007. However, I did finally find a solution on this page:

It worked like a charm. :D

Thanks a lot for you help!

    Take care,

Probably the easiest thing to do would have allowed that account to send mail, then changed it back.
