    Hi! We have user who has a prbolem I have never seen before! I don't know if it is Excel or her keyboard! Every time she types a number 5 in a cell in Excel - it becomes an 8. Very weird!

    Has anyone ever heard of something like this? I have tried looking at everything connected with Excel & with the keyboard - can't figure it out!

    Does rebooting the pc help?

    Need to try a different keyboard...

    Fixed it!

    Steve, thank you for the reply. We did reboot - same thing. I changed out the keyboard - same thing. Then I knew it had to be Excel. We found a tool called AUTO CORRECT that somehow had the 5 shown to 'auto correct' to an 8. Obscure, but fixed!

    Can we assume this was a machine in the accounting department? Definately not payroll ............ :D
