This may or may not be related to my previous thread regarding MsiInstaller Warnings in the Event Log, so I figured I should post the issues separately.

On the same machine as mentioned in the previous thread, we are seeing two Errors in the Application Event Log during every log-in. This is a Windows Media Center PC that has been reconfigured to connect to an SBS2K3 domain. Errors are as follows:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Userenv
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1085
    Date: 3/4/2008
    Time: 09:47:53
    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Computer: COMPUTER
    Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Folder Redirection failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    Event Type: Error

    User: DOMAIN\username
    Computer: COMPUTER
    Description:
Failed to perform redirection of folder My Documents. The files for the redirected folder could not be moved to the new location. The folder is configured to be redirected to <\\SERVER\Users\%USERNAME%\My Documents>. Files were being moved from <C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents> to <\\SERVER\Users\username\My Documents>. The following error occurred while copying <C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\Thumbs.db> to <\\SERVER\Users\username\My Documents\Thumbs.db>:
    Access is denied.

The folder permissions look good on the server. Any idea what gives?

    Thanks.

Have a look at the suggestions here

You'll need to configure the user's permissions on their user-name folder (\\share\name)

I checked the "Effective Permissions" for that account on the folder specified in the error, and it came up "Full Control ". Also, I was able to manually move files to/from the folder on the same computer under the user's account.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks.

    Maybe not.

You are trying to get a 'hacked' XP MCE on a domain... not something that is supported by MS, and not anything I have experience with.

Yeah, I had a really bad feeling about that.

    Thanks for the feedback.
