Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to help me, after looking through MS websites and getting nowhere. When I try to open Outlook, I get the message "The information store could not be opened ". I was fiddling around with profiles trying to get into another email account on this computer and it just closed down. I have not been able to get into it since then, except through My Computer, but cannot open inbox, folders or anything, message reads "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The information store could not be opened ". :( Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Paula

Which version of Outlook are you using?

What exactly were you doing when-> " I was fiddling around with profiles "

Version is Outlook Express on XP

Hello, is this the only information that you need? Outlook Express is the one I was using, we have XP, and to be honest I am not exactly sure what I was doing with the profiles, just trying a few different things like 'change user profile', 'edit user profile' or something along those lines. I have always figured if I clicked on something that would be really bad, it would prompt me with 'are you sure you want to...' We have just recently been hooked up to the net with two email accounts and I was just trying to figure out how to open the other account!! I have tried to uninstall and reinstall through control panel, but when I click on outlook, I am not able to uninstall (turns shaded). I'll try any suggestions, as obviously I'm not a computer genius  Cheers Paula

One place you say Outlook and in another place, you say Outlook Express. Which is it as these are 2 different programs and are treated differently? OE is part of Windows and Outlook is part of MS Office.
