hello, hope you can help me.
i am using intalio designer, architecture 2008, 3d studio max 10 and photoshop cs2. i also have some javas installed, don't really know if i need all of them but they are the following: J2SE development kit 5.0 udate 14
    J2SE runtime environment 5.0 update 14
Java platform enterprise edition 5 SDK
    Java 6 update 3
My problem is that when i try to shut down my laptop, all applications shut down properly aside java and i get the message javaw.exe is not responding or something like that and i need to press the End Now button so the laptop can finally shut down.
please help, don't know what to do

If you close all open apps - wait a minute or two and then attempt to shut down the pc, does it shut down then?

Just apps you're working on/with. (Apps that show up in the taskbar.)

Unless you are working in Java it is unlikely that you need .....

    J2SE development kit 5.0 udate 14
    J2SE runtime environment 5.0 update 14
Java platform enterprise edition 5 SDK

    and they should be uninstalled.

Java 6 update 3 is outdated and insecure - that should be uninstalled - the latest - secure version is Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4

Removing the unwanted/outdated software will likely solve your problem, but do check that none of your apps require the top three programs.
