    I am getting the error this operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact systm administrator. I have Norton Internet Security 2008, Spybot S&D, and Adaware. None of these programs have helped. I posted my hijackthis log below. It was just ran. Please help!!! Thank you.

    Just another side not on this. I am getting the error when accessing control panel and add/remove programs. My control panel has disappeared out of my start menu.

    Download ComboFix by sUBs from here, saving the file to your desktop.

    It's best disable realtime protection applications as they sometime interfere with the tool. Check this link for your applicable programs.

    • Close all open programs and windows
    • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    • It may reboot your computer and resume running when you logon. Wait for it to complete. When finished, it will open a log for you. Post that log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.
    Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

    Tyler, I've had a very long day and am now exhausted, so it will be tomorrow evening before I have further cleanup instructions (and it's needed). In the meantime, we need to run another tool to get a log for one of the infections you have or had.

    Please download FindAWF
    Save the file to the Desktop
    Double-click the FindAWF icon.

    If a Security Alert shows, allow the program to run.
    As instructed, press any key to continue.
    Use the following option: Press 1 then Enter to scan for bak folders
    The scan may take a while, please be patient.

    When done, awf.txt will open. Please post it's contents here.

    I recommend as little use of the internet (even being connected) as possible until we get a bit more cleaning done, to help prevent further re-infection.

    -It attempts to terminate the process represented by each filename on the list, if running
    -Deletes the rogue file from the parent folder, if present
    -Copies the original file to the parent folder

    When done with the above, it automatically runs a new scan and opens a new log. Please post the contents of the new awf.txt log here.


    Then, highlight (left click and drag from inside the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the code box) and copy the contents of the code box below and paste it into a blank notepad, then save it to your desktop as;

    Close all other windows and programs. Now drag the CFScript.txt onto ComboFix.exe and drop it, using the left mouse button. Combofix should run and may reboot the computer when it's done. A log will open when it's complete. Post the contents of that log and a new HijackThis log.

    Please do not click on the ComboFix window while it is running a scan. This can cause it to stall.

    Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune and save it to your Desktop.
    • Double click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    • Check the boxes to the left of:

      • Windows Temp
      • Current User Temp

      • Temporary Internet Files
      • Prefetch
      • Java Cache
      • Recycle bin

    • Finally, click Empty Selected. When you get the "Done Cleaning" message, click OK then exit.
    Reboot


    Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware (AVG-AS)
    • When installation completes, start AVG-AS then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
    • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful "), click on the Scanner tab at the top.
    • Click the "Settings" tab and change the recommended action to Quarantine.
    • Select Do Not Automatically Generate a Report after Every Scan.
    • Go back to the "Scan" tab and click "Complete System Scan ". This scan can take quite a while to run, so sit back and wait.
    • AVG-AS will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action.
    • Click the Apply all actions button. AVG-AS will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
    • Click on "Save Report ", then "Save Report As ". Save the report where you know you can find it again (like on the Desktop) and take note of the name.
    • Close AVG-AS and reboot.

    Please post the contents of the AVG-AS report.


    Finally, do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

    You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
    • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
    • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
    • Now click on Scan Settings
    • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
      • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
      • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
        Scan Mail Bases
    • Click OK
    • Now under select a target to scan:
      • Select My Computer
    • This will program will start and scan your system.
    • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
    • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
      • Now click on the Save as Text button:
    • Save the file to your desktop.

    Post the Kaspersky log.

    I am not able install the Active X control. It only gives me the information option instead of the install option. Any ideas??

    In your IE browser, click Tools on the menu and select Internet Options.
    Select the Security tab, then with the Internet Zone selected, click Custom Level.
    Verify Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins is set to either Prompt or Enable, then OK out.
    Try the scan again.

    If you still can't get it to load, download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) from here or here and save the file to your desktop.

    Double click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, select 'Perform Quick Scan', then click Scan.
    • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note below)
    • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    • Post the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

    Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.


    Update your installed antivirus and run a full system scan. Let me know the results.
