Hey guys. wasn't sure where to put this post as it could cover a few areas.. what's happened is I ran a registry clean without doing a backup (very stupid I know!) but thought I would have the chance at another point in the program I used. When I tried to get on the internet after the clean i had no luck and all it said in my connection was that it was trying to get an IP address. I tried to install tcp\ip 6 from teh options but got no luck. I get microsoft visaul c++ errors and basically my system is a mess! tried 2 restores from different points which were both unsuccessful ( so I'm REALLY stuck as I can't get on the net at all! I'm at work at the moment so any help would be much apperciated!! thanks

You could try renewing your IP address - not my strong area this :)

    Start > Run > cmd > Enter

    At the flashing cursor .....

    ipconfig /renew note the space between g & /

well I have re installed xp and all seems to be ok. only thing is my pc is slower than ever now for some reason. everythign is working but takes 5 times longer than usual. it's a P4 so I thought re installing xp would make it faster than it was before the probs started but I'm happy things are working again. thanks for the help ppl!

Hey again guys. I'm having a few probs finding the drivers for my sound card and video card. I only have the ones that came built with the PC so on board. I can't get any info from inside the machine but I know there is a program which can tell you what ur PC has so I'll know what drivers to search for. I can't remember what it's called tho. can anyone help? thanks
