I got a BSOD moment today that said the following:

    win32k.sys: Address BF8DC51D base at BF800000 DateStamp 41107f7a.

Oh Great Windows Gurus what is the mystery of this profound, but UGLY revelation?

    Hep Me:eek:

Does it say STOP, and a number?

Yes, it did, but I didn't write it down, but come to think of it, I think it was the BF8DC51D number. There was some other hexidecimal stuff that I can't remember, but I do know that was part of it.

Should I just put the Windows CD and do a Repair Install?

    Thanks,
    GPLEA

If it happened just once, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
You may run sfc /scannow, though.
Next time (if) it happens, make sure to write the whole error down.

Actually it's been happening quite a bit lately. I just put this PC together, with a Intel DP35DP Mobo, Core 2 Quad 2.4 6600 CPU, 4 Gig RAM, XFX GeForce 8600 GT, XP Pro. I also installed XP Lite. I'm considering re-installing what I took out there, and maybe run a Repair. Whatya think?

    Tanx Again,

Well, if data is no issue, I'd go ahead.
