[Resolved] Removing Katrina virus

Hello all,

My friend PC has Katrina virus; whenever I log into windows, I have 10 seconds to do whatever I can before the pc shutdown;

I did some research on the net but in vain;

I have to continuesly type shutdown -a to avoid restarting but it is leading me nowhere;

I removed the HD, plugged thru USB to another PC, ran updated CA antivirus which removed some virus but not the Katrina one since when I put it back in its orignial laptop, it kept giving me Katrina..... the PC shutdown issue.

Hi joedotm,

See if the PC will remain running while in safe mode. If so, can you download Deckard's System Scanner and transfer it to the PC, then run a scan? If successful, please post the contents of the main.txt log it opens when complete. So that you can locate and copy it, the log is saved to a subfolder of C:\Deckard.
