Windows Vista Processes running-Not in Task Manager.

I was trying to work with Thunderbird and Firefox and after deleting the profiles I knew I had messed up so I uninstalled and reinstalled both programs.
I continue to get the error message about them still running and shutting totally down and restarting has not helped.

I checked Task Manager and can NOT see any processes running for either program. Could this be a Vista problem now?

If re-installing the software doesn't help I can't understand how they can still be "running ".

I am being forced to use IE which I detest and wonder if anyone knows where their spell checker such as the one in the Mozilla products?

I finally got things figured out with lots of help.

Sure wish I had seen this article first. Would have saved a lot of time.

I will print it off for future problems which I will surely have.
