Not sure where to put this so I posted it here . Occasionally when going to a page after either a search or following a link , the page will begin to load and then suddenly it will go to a generic Dell search page and say they couldn't find this page - http://altfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/fm/3120-55680-1915-0?mpt . Then , when I go back the page will often times load just fine . When I paste this link into the browser window all I get is a blank page . I did a search on altfarm.mediaplex and found someone saying this on a webservertalk.com page :

Both Yahoo and Ebay are well known for spying on users and feedind personal information back to the offshore mediaplex conglomerates.

Mediaplex, a British consortium, pays Yahoo a tenth of a penny for your private habits. Think about that.

Your privacy is only worth one tenth of a red cent to them. Do a search for "Mediaplex removal tool" or "Kill MediaPlex Now" to remove the registry keys that cause these problems.

Of course someone refuted it further down the page . Is any of this true or is it something wrong with my system ? Whatever is causing it , it's totally annoying  Thanks folks !!

Thanks for relocating this post to the proper place. I was just checking this morning for any responses and was attempting to read another post in this same general security forum and the same thing happened again - I got a generic search page except this time the page it was saying it couldn't find was this one : www.infinisource.com/adserver2/adframe.php?n . When I hit the back button the page loaded fine . I'm totally at a loss here . Anybody , please ?

Try Firefox as cross reference. We'll know more.
Also, in IE, go Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, and click on Reset button. Restart computer.
