No. 1 - Recently I often get this little message. It has a yellow triangle with an exclamation symbol in it and reads:

"An active X controlor on this pages is not safe. Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result, this page may not display as intended. "

It then just has an OK box, which when I click, it goes away. I have never had a problem viewing the page. How can I get rid of it?

No. 2 - I inadvertantly deleted the the addresses that appear underneath the folders list on the left of the Outlook Express screen. How can I get it showing again?

Sorry..in a hurry...but the second part of your question:
Open outlook Express.....go to view....layout...then put the checkmark back in contacts. Click apply...then ok.

And you want allow an unsafe ActiveX control (that may do any one of a number of bad things to your PC) to run because?

But if you really do, go into tools~internet options~security and change the internet settings to Low or else use the custom button to pretty much remove any protection whatever.

Sorry, but I do not understand your reply. There is no low setting for active x controls under custom security settings.

There is no such setting in Windows XP under Internet Options, Security Tab, Custom level. Perhaps you could send me a link to where they explain the settings for the right security?

I never got this message before. I must have changed some setting that causes it to appear now, only occasionally at some very safe sites, such as PC World, etc.

Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > and look down near the bottom of that window. You should see a Reset button and a scrollable list field that you can select whatever level of protection you prefer. Notice what it is currently set at and change if needed. Mine stays on Medium at all times and I never get any messages from any sites I visit.

If you don't have any of the above, I have no clue what has happened to your browser but I would suggest that you either reload it or use the self repair feature.

    Good luck.

DAH!! I see it now. It is set on medium, so I guess that I will just have to live with the message. Thanks for your help.

And just as an extra security precaution? Perhaps do a recnet and updated virus scan?
Perhaps just use a free online scanner such as:
    Grisoft
    Housecall
    Panda
    Symantec

    And for Trojans.....might I suggest:
    Tauscan
