My Outlook 2002 (using XP home) recently starting giving me that annoying security warning that a program was trying to access my email. This happened after I installed ActiveSync, which I have since uninstalled, but the message remained. In other words, there is no program doing what Outlook is claiming (virus check is clean).

I can only get rid of the window by selecting yes, then a 5-minute or 10-minute option, but I have to do this twice...the first try is just ignored. This is not a fatal flaw (otherthing else seems to work fine), but it is rather annoying. Once I have Outlook open, the message doesn't come up again. It only happens on startup.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Try this: (be carefull)

Control custom code in shared mailboxes
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
By default, custom code will run in public folders, and you do not have to create or to set a registry key to enable it. However, you can use the registry to prevent custom code and folder home pages from running in Exchange public folders.

Follow these steps, and then quit Registry Editor: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security
    3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    4. Type SharedFolderScript, and then press ENTER.
    5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
    6. Type 1, and then click OK.

If it doesn't help, try 0 (zero) .

    Solution didn't work

Well I tried both 1 and 0 with regedit, rebooting each time, but the same message comes up in Outlook each time. Thanks for the idea, however. I've deleted the new entry again because I don't really know what it is doing.
