    Hello,
I have a celeron 1200 Tualatin, no o/c made + D3T on it. The problem is that it goes to 50 degrades (d.) and stays there after 1 -1.30 h. I applied only a little of that thermal paste, and it always reaches 50 d.

Can anyone tell me if I will have any trouble in future with the CPU ( shorter life ) or IS this the optimal temperature that it works ?!?

    CPU Temperature

    Hi Ray,

does you celleron 1200 works with two CPU fans?

according to what you say, it sounds like you have a problem with one of the fans.

even if the computer is on for days straight, its CPU temp. shouldn't be over 42-43 degrees.

    you sould check this.

No, it works only with one. I already had a Cel 900 and it's temperature was at 36-37 maximum. I tried cpuburn and after 1-1.30 minutes it shows 55 C with this one at 1200 on default. I did not change the mainboard ( 6 OXT ), I also tried a diiferent bios ver. which is F5. Previous was F6d from Gigabyte. Unfortunately I have the same results, after 2-2.30 h, it reaches 53 C.

    Well...

    Ray,

According to what you've said, maybe your CPU IS working in the right (i don't know about optimal...) temperature.

You shouln't really worry about CPU's life span.
After all, it does come with a life time warranty, does it? ;)

Ray - I'd worry about it big time.

Get yourself a better heatsink and fan. If you're running at 50 C, you can't be running very good and if you are, you won't be for long.

    ;)
