Problems with Ad-Aware SE Personal?

Anyone else having problems downloading updates today? Just curious if it is me or if there is a problem on their end. I get an "error retrieving update" message.

 

Hi Mike, Ad-Aware is no longer providing updates for Personal SE via the updater. You have to download and install them manually. See TeMerc's post: Ad-Aware SE Updates or you can also download them from MajorGeeks.

 

Thanks John. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. It was pretty easy just checking for updates and letting the program take off. Oh well.

If you update to Ad-Aware 2007 you will get the update feature back.

Thanks. I was thinking that was a paid version, not the a free one. I have to get more sleep one of these days!

General Comments re new version.

The problem with the Ad-Aware 2007 version is that when it finds what it thinks is spyware it does not tell you what it is as it used to do.

In addition some of the previous features are only available in the paid Pro version.

Not sure if SE version with ref files updates I get myself will find the same things as newer version. Ran the SE version with latest ref file and then installed 2007 and ran it and it found some things that had not been found before. However, I have no idea what they were.
