Hello, I am sure many have had this problem, a lan that has limited or no connectivity....I have a Dell 4550 series PC that all of the sudden can't connect to the internet. The router(Verizon) works because my laptop works wirelesly, I have changed all cables, put in a new PCI card tried numerous software fixes and even a system restore, all to no avail.
If anyone has any additional suggestions I could really use some HELP!!!!!

    Thanx.......

Thanks for the help, I have also heard about pay programs that troubleshoot connectivity, do you have any experience with them?

Have you tried connecting to the internet with the laptop but via the same cables that you have connected to your PC rather than wirelessly. That will help us rule out cable and router hardware (port) problems.

Sorry for my limited knowledge but what is the best way to test my laptop with the cables? I tried disabling my wireless connection and plugging in my ethernet cable but it still says "cable unplugged" is there something else I have to configure?

    Nope,
Sounds like the LAN port is dead. Say a prayer over it and call Verizon.
