    Hi!

The problem I'm dealing with goes like this:

I have my Toshiba laptop, I've had it for 2 years and a half now; and now whenever I'm trying to save a picture or an image directly from the Internet it freezes for like a minute and only afterwards it allows me to type in the name for the image or it freezes completely and shuts down the Internet Explorer window. It is rather annoying since my daily activities require me to search and save images down form the net.

About six months ago I filled to the top my 55 GB of ROM, and it was obiously slower and the problem previously explained began to happen. I already released almost 30 GB of the hardrive a copule of months ago and run the fragmentation of the the C: disc. I thought that would do, but obviously it didn't.

Any help would be reaaally apreciated here.
Thanks a lot for the help or advice you can give me!
    :)

Have you ever used any network drives or mapped drives?

When trying to access "Save As" or "Open" dialogs and you get a pause, it is normally a symptom of the system looking for a mapped drive that isnt there any more.

to check for any old mapped drives click START > RUN and type in cmd and click ok.

In the black DOS like screen that appears type in net use and press enter. This should show you any existing or old network mappings.

to get rid of one, use the "net use" command again but this time specify the drive letter followed by the /delete switch to delete them

    e.g.
    Code:
    net use x: /delete
    net use lpt1: /delete

Saving Dialog Box FREEZE! Part II

Since I wasn't aware of the time limit for reply :p , I'll have to post something very similar to the other thread I posted a couple of months ago. I hope it's okey since I need the help.

I explained that when trying to save pictures from the Web to my laptop, it would freeze and make me wait about a minute in order to react and allow me to name the picture; also the browsing in said dialog is very slow.

I finally understood what Techmonkey suggested in the answer of my prior post (my OS is in Spanish, so didn't identify the RUN part, hehe) and gave it a try, BUT there are no network drives or mapped drives registered in my laptop; therefore I'm at a loss again as to what to do....

Any other suggestions are more than welcomed! :D

*(My first post is called Saving Dialog Box FREEZE!)
