bought new laptop with xp media center.
Copied backup data for a particular program from a desktop onto CD-R. New laptop shows CD empty. I took the CD to another laptop with XP Meda Center and the data file shows up as it should. But the new XP media center laptop shows the CD empty. Reinstalled the DVDram driver. No luck there.
    What the ?

Some drives simply don't like media made by some companies...Try a different brand if you have it....Or use a flash drive if you have one.

With a brand new computer, I mistakenly thought that issue was a thing of the past...not. I tx'd files to another CD and the new laptop read them just fine.
    Thanks for the suggestion.
