more than 2 consecutive d/ls

I use IE6 on win98se but it only allows 2 consecutive downloads - how do I increase this number.

There is a registry hack (which I can't find right now) that will allow more than 2 downloads at a time through IE but I think it's easier just to use a download manager.

A lot of free download managers are full of spyware so you might want to try Fresh Download which claims to be spyware free.

I used GetRight with W9x and had great results. - Its not free, but it is worth every penny.

The best benefit is the fact that if downloading a large file and your dialup connection gets dropped, when you reconnect it will resume where it left off.

Another benefit for broadband users is that it will download from multible mirror sites, and even hop to a faster mirror.

Last - you can pile up a huge que of files to down load and let it go, and it can shut down the PC when finished.
