No sound, deleted sound device

Hello

I have actually deleted soundmax & now cannot play any music it comes up with the error code- C00D11BA. I need to reinstal a sound card (i am guessing)

Please can anyone help me with how i can go about doing this, i have tried restoring with no joy.

I have a Dell comp with windows XP

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

I hope you used an uninstaller (Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs) and did not just delete files or folders.

The easiest way would be to find the drivers CD that came with the computer and install the audio from there.

If you cannot find the drivers CD, they will be available at the Dell website.

To find which hardware devices your system has, use the Service Tag. Click on Drivers and Downloads, it will show you how to find the Service Tag.

I have tried installing the disk again but with no joy. I am on the web-site & have put in the tag U7670. I guess this is the correct one but in the list of things to download it doesn't come up with the driver i need, or so i don't think so. Here is the list it brings up for me-
