fault diagonasis of netword card routeprint command

    I have issue of NETWORK CARD , WHEN CONNECTED TO BROADBAND I AM NOT ABLE TO LOG;
    i went through series of diagonosis to check hardware of my Network Card , one of them is to enter command in DOS " ROUTEPRINT" , but when i do so it says it is not recognized as internal or external command whereas if i type same command in my other PC , it displays addresses.
    Is it that my Network card is faulty??
    all above is carrried out after disconnecting LAN cable
    Does anyone know software to fault diagonize network card?

    At the command prompt type:

    Route /? to see the options for the route command.

    Hi steve,
    Thanks, for information, actually I want to now know that how to enable DHCP to automatically configure IP address in TCP/IP as whenever i try to connect BROADBAND I am require to add IP address manually as it doesn't find auto even I have selected auto option

    To use auto dhcp in XP:
    If use a router make sure the router dhcp is enabled.
    Set net card TCP to use auto.
    Next, go to control panel > admin tools > services >
    Make sure the following Services are set to:
    DHCP Client > auto started
    Network Connections > manual started
    Network Location Awareness > manual started
    reboot comp

    If don't use a router, config as above, power off the broadband modem completely.
    Shutdown comp.
    Power on modem & wait until synched.
    Power on comp.
