Windows not letting me boot in safe mode?

    I need to boot in safe mode so I can take ownership of a folder, so I pressed F8, while boooting, I selected to run in safe mode, but I get a black screen that contains a bunch of jiberish(i posted pic below),it stayed like that for 3 min,so i turned it off and tried again,should I give it some more time to try and boot up?

    do u guys think the "geeksquad" over at bestbuy can fix this?

    Because I really need to get into safe mode to recover some much needed files thanks

    That jibberish is Windows loading generic drivers for your hardware. I've waited up to 8 minutes on systems I was repairing already. Load time depends on individual systems hardware.

    okay thanks, im gunna give it a try now,


    out of curiosity, since i did turn it off in a abrubt way because i thought my system locked, that wouldnt mess anything up will it?

    No, that type of shutoff would only force booting in safe mode.
