Hey guys, I'm back with some problems.

Whenever I have a DirectX application open (mostly games), I can't use my arrows key. Instead I have to hold the Control button and then use arrow keys.

    This method gets pretty frustrating...

    I have done the following...

Google for an answer (Went to the 3rd page, and no answer)

    I've changed keyboards.. Nada.

    Any ideas?

    --- my specs:

    Windows XP Pro Sp2 - w/ 32bit processor.

I have no idea why this was moved.. this is most likely software or input errors..

I just need to know which/or what..

I moved it - keyboards are hardware - I also responded, but it would seem that my response got lost in the ether :)

Are you sure that the key problems are not related to the keyboard key configuration in the games?

    Check out your DirectX ....

Start > Run > type in dxdiag > Enter

Check out all the tabs with particular reference to Input - any problems listed?

Do you have the latest version of DirectX - DirectX 9.0c - ignore DirectX 10 - too new and few video cards and games can take advantage of it.

    no problems..

Its not the key configuration because it's happening with all my games..

Cod 4, warcraft 3, Maplestory.. etc.

    and yes DirectX 9.0c

Sorry - not a gamer so I am not familiar with those or any games. If you are using a 'fancy' keyboard I would suggest uninstalling the software through Add/Remove programs, the keyboard through Device Manager, rebooting and reloading the software. Might also check for updates for the keyboard. too.

Beyond that I have little else to add - hopefully another poster will drop by with some further suggestions.
