How open PDF file??

    Hello:
    Windows XP, Outlook Express 6
    Someone sent me a PDF file, i click on Open, but i get a message
    " This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the Folders Option control panel ".
    Huh?? who can explain??
    2nd question .what does PDF mean and how would you send a pdf file???

    How open a PDF file??

    Thanks, but why another program??
    Actually i forwarded it to wife's XP 'puter and it opened in Adobe, we then checked my Adobe8 and repaired it, then it worked

    ALL Files require a program to open them.

    .PDF files are generally/usually created by Adobe.

    The program that Whiskeyman suggested is an aternate program that will open pdf files.
